Dr. Danielle Hibbitts M.A., M.S., Psy. D

Dr. Danielle Hibbitts is a registered psychological associate with the California Board of Psychology (PSB94026547), practicing under Dr. Jaseon Outlaw (PSY23676).  She obtained a doctorate degree from Argosy University, San Francisco Bay Area campus. She also graduated from California State University East Bay, holding double master’s degrees in Marriage Family Therapy and Forensic Psychology. Lastly, she holds a certification from California State University East Bay in Applied Statistics.

Dr. Hibbitts specializes in risk assessment, individual therapy, and group therapy for a multitude of presenting concerns.  Specifically, Dr. Hibbitts has worked in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, stress, women’s issues, trauma/PTSD, couples/family work, and with sexual offenders.  More specifically, Dr. Hibbitts works with adolescents and adults who have been both victims and survivors of trauma. She has worked with developmentally delayed individuals and sexually violent perpetrators. She has also engaged in family reunification cases along with Child Protective Services (CPS). She has worked in San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Joaquin, and Merced counties.

Dr. Hibbitts works with a diverse caseload of clients who experience a range of emotional, behavioral, cognitive, genetic, and environmental challenges.  Cognizant of cultural variables, and racial disparities, she is sensitive to the causes and complexities of trauma and the impact on the individual and collective mental health issues of the community.  She works from an integrative theoretical model, including components from solution-focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy into her practice. Dr. Hibbitts is also TF-CBT certified (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy) for children and adults.

Dr. Hibbitts has a special interest in what impacts black women and authored the book titled; Herstory of the Hairstory. This book began as her dissertation and includes direct experiences from her life as a cosmetologist (33 years) to becoming a psychologist. This qualitative study sheds light on the psychological implications hair has on Black and multi-racial women. With the passing of the CROWN Act, this highlights a movement to eliminate hair discrimination.
